Certified English translation of the Russian school certificate (Аттестат), accepted by USCIS, courts, universities and consulates. $25 per page certified for USCIS, or $35 per page with notarization, delivered in 24 hours.

What this document looks like

The аттестат о среднем общем образовании confirms completion of secondary school; the grade sheet lists every subject with marks on the five-point scale. Colleges issue a диплом о среднем профессиональном образовании with its own supplement. Honors (с отличием, medals) are noted on the document.

We translate Russian-language documents from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova, including Soviet-era records that are still in everyday circulation across all of them.

What has to appear in the translation

A certified translation must be complete — not the important parts, all of it. For this document in particular:

  • The school’s full name, registration number and issue date
  • Every subject and mark on the grade sheet, with the grading scale
  • Honors or distinction wording exactly as written
  • Seal text and signatures of the director and commission

Who needs this translated — by purpose

One certified Russian to English school certificate translation covers each of these.

For WES or ECE evaluation

Evaluators use the grade sheet to set your U.S. equivalent. WES does not accept a translation you made yourself. WES vs ECE rules, quoted.

For U.S. college admission

Colleges usually ask for a copy of the original with a certified English translation, and many also want an evaluation. Ask the school which it needs.

For the DV lottery visa interview

Diversity Visa winners must show at least a high school education or its equivalent. The consulate expects the certificate with an English translation. DV lottery documents.

Frequently asked

How much does it cost to translate a Russian school certificate?

$25 per page for a certified translation (translation + signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy — what USCIS requires), or $35 per page certified and notarized (a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes the translator’s signature). Most school certificates are one or two pages.

Does USCIS require the translation to be notarized?

No. 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires a full English translation plus the translator's signed certification of completeness, accuracy and competence. Notarization is not required by USCIS. If you need it — consulates, courts and schools abroad often do — choose the notarized tier at $35 a page, where a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes the translator's signature.

Can I send a photo taken with my phone?

Yes. Make sure all four corners are in the frame, nothing covers a seal, and you photograph the reverse side as well if anything is printed or stamped there.

How fast will I get it?

24 hours as standard. Rush 12-hour service is available for an extra $15 per page.

Do I need to submit the original along with the translation?

Yes. The regulation requires the foreign-language document to accompany the translation. We deliver the packet already assembled in the correct order — copy of the original, translation, signed certificate.

Do I need to translate the grade sheet as well as the certificate?

Yes for WES, ECE and college admission: the grade sheet holds the subjects and marks the decision is based on. Each page is priced: $25 certified, 24 hours.

Can you translate a Russian college diploma (среднее профессиональное)?

Yes. Vocational college diplomas and their supplements are translated in full, with the qualification translated literally rather than converted to a U.S. degree name.

  • An office in Brooklyn you can walk into — 2393 Coney Island Ave, Mon–Sat. Walk-in clients: short documents same day at the office; online orders in 24 hours (12-hour rush +$15/page).
  • Uzbek and Russian are our languages, not a language pair on a menu. Cyrillic, Latin and Soviet-era forms; patronymics, ZAGS act numbers and my.gov.uz e-certificates handled daily.
  • Notarization is done in-house — the translator signs the Certificate of Translation Accuracy, and when you order the $35 notarized tier a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes that signature on the spot, not sent out.
  • 24 hours standard, 12-hour rush, and a written acceptance guarantee: rejected on the translation itself → corrected free, refunded if that fails.
