Certified English translation of the Russian employment certificate (Справка с места работы), accepted by USCIS, courts, universities and consulates. $25 per page certified for USCIS, or $35 per page with notarization, delivered in 24 hours.

What this document looks like

An employment certificate (справка с места работы) or income statement (справка о доходах) is issued on the employer’s letterhead. It states the position, start date, salary and currency, and is signed by the director and often the chief accountant, with an outgoing number, date and seal.

We translate Russian-language documents from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova, including Soviet-era records that are still in everyday circulation across all of them.

What has to appear in the translation

A certified translation must be complete — not the important parts, all of it. For this document in particular:

  • The employer’s full registered name and any registration numbers shown
  • Position, department, dates of employment and salary figures with currency
  • The outgoing number and date, signatories’ titles and the seal text
  • Every figure exactly as written; nothing is converted or rounded

Who needs this translated — by purpose

One certified Russian to English employment certificate translation covers each of these.

For USCIS employment petitions

Experience letters for employment-based petitions must give the employer’s name and address and the employee’s title and duties (8 CFR 204.5(g)(1)). A Russian letter needs a certified translation. USCIS accepts a certified translation: a complete English translation plus the translator’s signed certificate of accuracy and competence (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). Notarization is not required.

For visas and consulates

Consulates and embassies often ask for proof of employment and income with a visa application; most accept a certified English translation. Check the consulate’s own checklist.

Also used for

Banks, landlords, asylum evidence of work history, and pension or tax records.

Frequently asked

How much does it cost to translate a Russian employment certificate?

$25 per page for a certified translation (translation + signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy — what USCIS requires), or $35 per page certified and notarized (a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes the translator’s signature). Most employment certificates are one page.

Does USCIS require the translation to be notarized?

No. 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires a full English translation plus the translator's signed certification of completeness, accuracy and competence. Notarization is not required by USCIS. If you need it — consulates, courts and schools abroad often do — choose the notarized tier at $35 a page, where a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes the translator's signature.

Can I send a photo taken with my phone?

Yes. Make sure all four corners are in the frame, nothing covers a seal, and you photograph the reverse side as well if anything is printed or stamped there.

How fast will I get it?

24 hours as standard. Rush 12-hour service is available for an extra $15 per page.

Do I need to submit the original along with the translation?

Yes. The regulation requires the foreign-language document to accompany the translation. We deliver the packet already assembled in the correct order — copy of the original, translation, signed certificate.

Can you translate a Russian income statement (справка о доходах)?

Yes. Income and employment certificates are translated word for word, including every figure, the currency, the signatures and the seal. $25 per page certified, delivered in 24 hours.

Is a translated employment certificate enough for an H-1B or I-140?

The translation is accepted by USCIS when it is complete and certified. Whether the letter itself contains everything your petition needs is a question for your attorney.

What you get here that a price table does not show

  • An office in Brooklyn you can walk into — 2393 Coney Island Ave, Mon–Sat. Walk-in clients: short documents same day at the office; online orders in 24 hours (12-hour rush +$15/page).
  • Uzbek and Russian are our languages, not a language pair on a menu. Cyrillic, Latin and Soviet-era forms; patronymics, ZAGS act numbers and my.gov.uz e-certificates handled daily.
  • Notarization is done in-house — the translator signs the Certificate of Translation Accuracy, and when you order the $35 notarized tier a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes that signature on the spot, not sent out.
  • 24 hours standard, 12-hour rush, and a written acceptance guarantee: rejected on the translation itself → corrected free, refunded if that fails.
