Certified English translation of the Arabic court judgment (حكم), accepted by USCIS, courts, universities and credential evaluators. $25 per page certified for USCIS, or $35 per page with notarization included, delivered in 24 hours.

What this document looks like

A court judgment (حكم) typically identifies the court, the case number and year, and the parties, sets out the facts and reasoning, and ends with the ruling itself, followed by signatures and seals. Certified copies often carry further stamps or endorsements.

We also translate divorce court orders — including the type of divorce exactly as stated: revocable (رجعي), irrevocable minor or major (بائن بينونة صغرى / كبرى) or khulʿ (خلع) — and powers of attorney (توكيل in Egypt, وكالة in the Levant and the Gulf).

Arabic is translated by a professional Arabic→English translator who signs the Certificate of Translation Accuracy. The English layout mirrors the original’s structure even though Arabic reads right to left; seals are noted as [Seal: …]. Eastern Arabic digits (٠١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩) are converted digit by digit and ID and record numbers are double-checked. Hijri dates (هـ) are translated as written, with the Gregorian equivalent added in a bracketed translator’s note. Names follow the spelling in your passport — send a photo of the passport page or type the spelling in the order notes.

If your document is bilingual (Arabic/French, as in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Lebanon, or Arabic/English), say so in the order notes: USCIS needs a full translation of both parts, and we confirm before starting.

What has to appear in the translation

A certified translation must be complete — 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) asks for a “full English language translation”, so we translate everything: stamps, seals, handwritten notes and the back side. For this document in particular, these are the elements most often left out:

  • The case number, year and court name exactly as printed
  • The full reasoning and the operative ruling — not a summary
  • Every seal, signature, stamp and endorsement, including those on later pages and the reverse
  • Dates as written, with the Gregorian equivalent added in a translator’s note for Hijri dates

Syria. For immigration, the U.S. Department of State says Syrian marriage contracts and divorce court orders are not accepted as proof on their own — the Civil Registry record or family extract is needed (travel.state.gov — Syria). We translate both.

Send the reverse side. Corrections, endorsements and later stamps live on the back of the page far more often than people expect. If the back is blank, tell us it is blank — that way we both know it was checked.

Who needs this translated

U.S. court proceedings, divorce and custody matters, immigration filings where a foreign judgment or divorce order is evidence, and matters abroad handled under a power of attorney.

Frequently asked

How much does it cost to translate an Arabic court judgment?

$25 per page for a certified translation (translation + signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy — what USCIS requires), or $35 per page certified and notarized (a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes the translator’s signature). Court judgments often run to several pages; the price is per page of the original.

Is $25–$35 a page more expensive than other certified translation services?

For the certified translation USCIS asks for, our $25 a page sits in the middle of the market and includes the signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that some lower prices leave out. For a notarized page — what courts, consulates and many schools want — $35 covers the translation, the certificate, notarization of the translator’s signature by a New York notary and 24-hour delivery on single documents, which is below every provider in our comparison that charges a separate notary fee (prices checked September 10, 2026).

Does USCIS require the translation to be notarized?

No. 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires a full English translation plus the translator's signed certification of completeness, accuracy and competence. Notarization is not required by USCIS. If you need it — consulates, courts and schools abroad often do — choose the notarized tier at $35 a page, where a separate commissioned New York notary notarizes the translator's signature.

Who translates Arabic documents?

A professional Arabic→English translator, who signs the Certificate of Translation Accuracy stating competence in both languages and that the translation is complete and accurate, as 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires. Orders for Arabic documents are handled online and by email.

Can I send a photo taken with my phone?

Yes. Make sure all four corners are in the frame, nothing covers a seal, and you photograph the reverse side as well if anything is printed or stamped there.

How fast will I get it?

24 hours as standard. Rush 12-hour service is available for an extra $15 per page.

Do I need to submit the original along with the translation?

Yes. The regulation requires the foreign-language document to accompany the translation. We deliver the packet already assembled in the correct order — copy of the original, translation, signed certificate.
